Dr. Cathy Kirkland is the founder of Beautifully Broken Counseling, "Bringing Beauty to the Broken Hearted." She and her husband, Dr. Todd Kirkland manage the practice as a family friendly and welcoming place for hurting people to find a place of acceptance and healing. Cathy's greatest joy is helping her clients know that boundaries are a good thing. Many people are in or were in family situations where boundaries were ignored or nonexistent. She helps clients name the offences, face them and then forgive them for ultimate healing. She uses a personally developed method of healing that you can only find at Beautifully Broken Counseling. It is called the Dilemma Book Method. She teaches this method on day one as it is effective for a more complete healing tool. She developed this method amid her own healing process to claim the name of victor instead of a victim. Cathy has the natural ability to draw out truth in others as she approaches others with genuine and compassionate caring. She wants those that come to her to know that there really can be Beauty after Brokenness. Dr. Cathy's heart is to help individuals and families be honest with each other and stop hiding behind secrets. She has several tools to help individuals deal with past trauma and walk away from the chains of connection to dysfunction.
Many of Dr. Cathy's patients experience complete and lasting healing but they will come in whenever new challenges arise. Cathy is happy to reconnect with her former clients as well as new friends. She has created a space that is truly welcoming and inviting. This helps clients relax quickly and start healing. Tissues are free and her clients feel comfortable to release pinned up emotions that many times come with tears. Cathy reports that her greatest joy is to have a new empty tissue box that needs a replacement. This is a sign that real healing is happening.
Cathy's clients offer the following recommendations for you to consider:
"Cathy is by far the most caring counselor I have met with. She always has great insight and has been very helpful in my journey of recovery. I'm blessed to have found her."

Melissa is driven by a passion for giving back to her community through counseling. She says she has received so much love, healing, support, and hope from the counseling, church, and recovery communities and, subsequently, felt led by The Spirit to use her pain to help others heal. After overcoming 20 years of covert abuse between two relationships, she feels God has equipped her to serve in counseling ministries in that area. Between life experience, advanced certifications, a Masters in Clinical Christian Pastoral Counseling, service in Celebrate Recovery, and other ministries, she feels she can confidently and effectively utilize the lessons she has gleaned to help others find hope, freedom, peace, joy, and, most importantly, themselves again in Christ.
Melissa has been told by many women and young ladies that she has a gift of being open and available; especially in her work with teens. One of Melissa's student's mother says, "My daughter feels like she can open up to Ms. Melissa while they paint together; it has helped her to have someone to talk to in a creative, relaxed environment." Melissa's students, sponsors, and accountability partners urged her to become a counselor for over 8 years. One accountability partner says, "She has a vulnerability and ability to be empathetic while offering hope and not pity." She's been told she's a good listener by many including her mentor who is also a Christian counselor. She has encouraged her toward Pastoral Counseling for years after seeing her heart for helping others heal and says, "[Melissa] pays thoughtful attention when listening to others and is not quick to go to a judgement on an issue. Also, [she] has a compassionate heart balanced with a sound mind." Melissa's sponsor says "because of all Melissa's past experiences, life experiences of hurt and pain from losing her brother, divorce, abused in many ways, single parent, alcohol...[these] experiences not only help her to have more empathy but help her understand what others are going through. No one will have any better skills to do this like Melissa will."
Melissa is excited to finally step fully and faithfully into her calling to help others find lasting healing in Christ. She is excited to help you and your family and looks forward to hearing from you soon.

"We have been super pleased thus far."
Marriage and Relationship Counseling
"Very good listener, great faith-based advice."
"I couldn't think of any one better to counsel me and my wife as we prepared to get married. Paul was encouraging and funny but at the same time helped us to see potential pit falls and particular problems that could come up for us in our relationship. 5 years later and I'm still thinking about some of our discussions with Paul. Our marriage is definitely stronger having gone through counseling with him. Highly Recommended!"
"Paul is great with assessing the deeper problems that are in a person's heart. There is sin beneath the initial sin, and Paul is great at getting at the core of it and offering solutions that are attainable. Highly recommended!"
"Paul counseled my husband and I before we got married and we are so thankful! He listened well and helped us talk through our various issues. He also helped us develop tools for dealing with conflict that we have used thorough out our marriage of 5 years now! I would highly recommend Paul to anyone!"
"Talked to Paul on the phone and he's very personable and willing to work with you! Have our first session soon && will post another review then :)"
If you would like to schedule a meeting with Paul, see "CONTACT US" and ask for Paul by name on your intake form.

"Alicia has been absolutely wonderful. She has allowed me to comfortably open up to her and knows exactly what to say and ask and to not "Tell Me" what to do or think, but to allow me to find answers within MYSELF! Because of my sessions with her I have been able to rid myself of baggage I didn't even know I was still carrying. I am eternally grateful for Alicia."
"I instantly felt comfortable with Alicia. She is so easy to talk to and I can tell she is very loving."
